Acts 5:42 says, "Every day in the temple, and in various homes, they continued teaching and proclaiming the good news that Jesus is the Messiah" (CSB).

 

During this period of uncertainty, God is challenging us to shift our paradigm about the church. Are we called to "do" church or "be" the church? The short answer is both. As a body of believers, we have a reference point from the very beginning. The word church comes from the Greek word ecclesia, which means a called-out company or assembly. So, assembling is the intended purpose of God's people coming together to worship Him. The being comes in the actions of the called ones. Likewise, the Holy Spirit establishes our physical bodies as the temple of the Lord. So how do we "be" the church? Simple. We live a life of worship.

 

This Sunday is the next step in our online worship experience. At 10 am, Pastor Jimmy will present an encouraging message for the church, which will be accessible through Facebook, youtube, twitter, our church app, and the website. Also, we are going to send out handouts for each to have a home church experience. We will provide a list of songs so that we can worship together. Our prayer is that you will take this opportunity to experience God right in your homes so much that it boils out into your neighborhood.  

 

1. Prepare your homes and hearts for an extraordinary outpouring of God's presence (Play worship music throughout the house, pray, and read scripture).

2. Assemble at 10 am for a corporate online message (The message will be available on Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, Church App, and the church website).

3. Worship together in our homes as a family (We will provide a playlist of songs on a shared Youtube playlist).

4. Give (via texting "Give" to 855.795.9705, The Beach Church VA app, online through our website www.thebeachchurch.org/donate, and by mailing a check to 503 15th Street Virginia Beach, VA 23451).
