As an adventure loving guy, I love the outdoors. I have been very fortunate to have had many adventures in many countries and places around the world from hiking in Petra, Jordan, jumping off a Clipper style sail boat into the clear Red Sea, running down the super steep snake path on Masada, trekking and tubing through the Rain Forest and the list goes on and on. I also like the trees and how they each have their way of reaching for the sky with their branches.
One of the best ways to remember a wonderful memory is with a picture. I one day will pass on, but I can leave memories behind with the pictures I take of my experiences. Now, I am not a photographer or honestly even own a good camera, but I really do enjoy to capture a moment I feel GOD made just for me. I also like to look at scenic pictures from around the world and see the beauty that other people see in the world.
Pictures I find are a lot like art. Some people find beauty where others may not. Art is relative, because what we see varies from person to person. So, is beauty relative? There’s this girl that doesn’t think she is pretty. Her friend tells her how pretty she is, but she doesn't believe him because of what she sees. She says, she doesn’t feel pretty. She isn’t like the other girls. She continually points out what she sees as flaws, but her friend says “but that’s just what makes you unique and stand out from the others.”
I wonder if that’s how GOD sees us. This reminds me of the prophet Isaiah. He felt the same way when GOD called him. Listen to what he told GOD after the LORD was calling him to be His spokesman.
Isaiah 6:1-7, 1. ” In the year of King Uzziah’s death I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, lofty and exalted, with the train of His robe filling the temple. 2 Seraphim stood above Him, each having six wings: with two he covered his face, and with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew.
3And one called out to another and said,
“Holy, Holy, Holy, is the LORD of hosts,
The whole earth is full of His glory.”
4And the foundations of the thresholds trembled at the voice of him who called out, while the temple was filling with smoke.
5 Then I said,
“Woe is me, for I am ruined!
Because I am a man of unclean lips,
And I live among a people of unclean lips;
For my eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts.”
6 Then one of the seraphim flew to me with a burning coal in his hand, which he had taken from the altar with tongs. 7 He touched my mouth with it and said, “Behold, this has touched your lips; and your iniquity is taken away and your sin is forgiven.”
We keep saying how we don’t match up or qualify for what GOD is looking for, all the while it is He that is calling us! We don’t call ourselves, so we cannot qualify ourselves. It is GOD that calls and it is He that counts us worthy. It’s not that He owes us, or that we somehow made the cut due to our own actions. He picked us, because He loved us. He loves us more than the world. He loves us more than his own life.
So sir, ma’am, you do not get to say how little you are. Do not say that you are not pretty enough. Do not say you are not cool enough, do not fit in or that you're weird. Do you realize who's you are? Do you realize who formed you while you were still in the womb? Do you know that you are loved? LOVED!! Loved so truly and deeply, not just by anyone, but by the Creator and Master of the universe. You are watched over day and night by the one who has counted every tear, loved by the one who thinks of you continually every minute of every day.
I challenge you to know and remember that being loved is not conditional, or a status of qualification. You are loved by someone who forgives you regardless of what you have done. Know that you are loved. Know that you are picture perfect!
