What Does it Mean to be Saved?

What does it mean to be saved? What happens to you?

Prov. 14:12 “There is a way which seems right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.”

We cannot save ourselves. You can spend your life doing what you think is right; while it might save you from jail it won't save your soul.

Galatians 5:17: For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that you cannot do the things that ye would.

Sometimes when people do bad things to us, we want to fight back. We want to get revenge. Jesus said to do good to those who do bad things to us and falsely accuse us. It’s hard to do this, but Jesus will give you the strength and courage to do the right thing. (Philippians 4:13)

2 Corinthians 5:17: “Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, all things are become new.”

When you ask Jesus to forgive you, it changes you and makes you a new person.

Who can be saved, you ask?

John 3:16 “For GOD so loved the world that he gave His only begotten son that whosoever believeth in him shall not perish, but have everlasting life.”

This means anybody and everybody that sees that they are a sinner and wants to be forgiven of anything and everything can and will be saved just by the asking.

So, how do I do it? How can I be saved?

I'm glad you asked. It's easier than you might think.

Acts 16:31 “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household.”

Ephesians 2:8-9 “8 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, 9 not a result of works, so that no one may boast.”

Can I go through any religion that claim they can save me?

John 14:6 6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.“

After receiving Jesus as your Saviour, you are a new creature. You start over in Christ, blameless and perfect in His eyes. Also, GOD gives you the title of son or daughter and full rights of being family. You now are an heir of Christ. Everything He is and has is yours.

John 1:12 “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name.”
